Exercise at Home!

We all know we should exercise, but only only 16% of Americans actually exercise on a regular basis. Over 60% of Americans are now considered to be overweight. This is what is major contributing cause to our health care crisis!

On May 15th 2010, I finished an in-home fitness program called P90X. I can honestly say that at age 40, I was in the best shape of my life. I was so impressed with the program, I have continued to use and recommend Beachbody products to my patients friends and family ever since. They have a number of programs to fit the needs of most people from low impact to high intensity. I now stream all their programs now for just $99/year, its great. Here are just a few. So, how much exercise do you need? It depends upon your current health and your goals. Burning 500-1,000 extra calories per week, by walking at least 30 minutes per day, can extend your life and reduce the risk of colon cancer and type II diabetes. Exercising more increases the benefits, but take it slow. We must resist the temptation to rush our results, if we injure ourselves or burn ourselves out we wont stick to the program, and that is the most important part, consistency. Most research shows that the more you exercise the more you benefit. So, get out there and get some exercise and have fun!
